NewEconomicParadigm Open minds for a brighter future
About
About This Website There is no "we". Its just me and my ideas based upon my education, work experience and over sixty five years of living in this world. As I now enjoy the fruits of over forty years working and have retired, I have more time to pull toghether ideas that might help the future become an improved vision. What I propose by Fusion Economics is not some off the wall sceince fiction but what appears-at least to me-a logical progression. As a conscious human being, we should devote some thought to what has been happening during our short time on the stage and try to pass something on that might be of some value to those who will continue to "strut their stuff". In my mind, we all have something to give and this is my part-besides leaving three excellent human beings-my children- to continue the game. In other words, this site is an attempt to reach out to others about an idea that might make existence better for everybody.
During the last century, we have seen a great ideological battle between the capabilities of central planning versus the power and imagination of market place planning; Communism-Socialism and capitalsim. So far, Capitalism has proven to be on top. However, even as a beneficiary of living in a Capitalistic system and being a devoted Captialist, I see a better way for more people to benefit and by extension all of civilization will benefit, too.
While I was a business analyst and fraud examiner, I had the eye opening opportunity to interview thousands of people from all echelons within over 600 companies in the U.S.A. I learned something very important: everybody has something to contribute and that most of us are very much the same with the exception of the expectations we have set for oursleves.
Often, I encountered very intelligent and capable people who had the wisdom to seek their own path and not buy into wealth and power. With few exceptions, these individuals found fulfillment in their own eyes and not looking to be fullfilled through the eyes of others. Captialism can bring out the best and also some ugliness. In my mind, the allure of materialism and false appearance (image) have been leading our world away from the light as did communism-socialism in the former Soviet Union. Of course, this may be a simplistic idea but in both cases the economic philosophy of both systems failed to fully understand real human nature.
Socialsim-communism failed to make room for the 20% of the population who want and need to progress-to constantly compete and prove themselves; to whom and for what reasons are as diverse as the people who pursue finding themselves. It's the old 80/20 rule: 20% of the population produces 80% of the group benefit. Maybe its a matter of abilities, desire or just luck but it is what it is. Just think if we could find a way to turn the 20% into 80%! And I believe we (mankind) can do it if we set our collective mind to it.
This is the germ that has become planted in my consciousness: success is more about motivation than ability or good timing. Indeed. money and materialism is just not enough for the many; there must be more to it than that.
What does this imply? To me, it means that not everybody is motivated by what Capitalism offers as motivation. For example, what value does esthetics play in a society? What value do art and creativity play if not directly linked with profitability? What is the measure of quality of life? Personally, it is a complex question that needs to be explored more within the context of the real world of work and personal fullfillment. Bottom-line, we can come up with a better system to help leverage the intelligence and creativity of our species. In fact, it is my belief that if we dont, we may be in danger of self destruction.
